At SIMPRO Academy Phuket, guests can enjoy a range of sim racing experiences designed to feel like real track driving. Sessions can focus on learning racing lines, braking points, and car control on famous circuits around the world. Drivers can choose casual fun runs or structured sessions that help improve lap times and racing technique.
The academy also offers immersive flight simulation experiences that recreate the feel of real‑world flying. Visitors can practice basic aircraft controls, takeoffs, landings, and simple navigation in a safe, guided environment. Advanced sessions can introduce more complex procedures, weather conditions, and emergency scenarios for guests who want a deeper aviation challenge.
These sim racing and flight simulation experiences are ideal for beginners who want an easy introduction, with clear guidance and simple setups. More experienced drivers and pilots can book longer or custom sessions to focus on specific skills and realistic scenarios. Groups, families, and corporate teams can also enjoy shared experiences, turning each session into a fun and memorable activity in Phuket.
Our racing rigs run on iRacing — the platform used by professional drivers worldwide — with Simucube 2 Pro direct-drive wheelbases, Simtrecs load-cell pedals, and 32-inch curved triple monitors backed by a live telemetry display. The Mazda MX-5 Cup is our balanced, rewarding training car, and every lap is recorded, so telemetry analysis — braking traces, throttle inputs, racing lines and lap deltas — is available in a coaching session. Our flight simulators feature full cockpit instruments and optional VR, on a programme designed by an instructor who has spent more than 23 years as a professional airline pilot.
A session is 60 minutes at the wheel or the controls, for 1,300 THB. We set up your seating and controls, introduce the car or the aircraft, and then the hour is yours — with staff on hand for as much or as little input as you want. If you want to build real skill over time, we run a 6-sessions, 10 sessions and 20 sessions that track your progress session to session.
Want more than that? One-to-one coaching with Paul Chappell is 2,000 THB per hour: a structured brief, coaching while you drive or fly, and a debrief where you go through your own telemetry together.
Nothing special is required, but a few things make the hour more comfortable.
Wear closed shoes with a thin sole — trainers are ideal. Heels, flip-flops and thick-soled boots make the pedals harder to judge, and braking is where most of the feel lives.
Dress lightly. The simulator room is air-conditioned, but concentration and a firm grip generate more heat than people expect.
Glasses are fine with the VR headset. Contact lenses work too. If you wear either, mention it when you arrive and the team will set the headset up for you.
Bring nothing else. Bags go beside the rig, drinks are handled by the Soho kitchen, and everything you need is already at the seat.
Arrive about ten minutes early. Your hour starts when you do, and a short briefing beforehand makes the first laps far more useful.
Coming back regularly? Book sessions up front instead of one at a time.
6 sessions — 6,950 THB. Valid six months.
10 sessions — 10,950 THB. Valid twelve months.
20 sessions — 21,500 THB. Valid twelve months.
Every session is the standard 60-minute staff-run session — same rig, same staff on hand. Twenty sessions works out at 1,075 each against 1,300 booked singly.
Buying more than one package? Family and group discounts are available. Coaching with Paul is separate, at 2,000 THB per hour, and can be added whenever you want it — including if you already hold a package.
A standard session is self-directed with staff on hand. Coaching is different: an hour one-to-one with Paul Chappell, working on specific things you want to improve.
Paul is a former airline pilot with more than 25 years of experience and SIMPRO’s lead flight instructor. On the racing side he coaches braking points, racing line and consistency; on the flight side, procedures, navigation and cockpit management.
Sessions use real-time feedback and video analysis, so you can see exactly where time is being lost rather than guessing at it.
Coaching is 2,000 THB per hour and is always billed separately from session time. It can be booked as a one-off or across several sessions if you want to track progress properly.
To arrange coaching, call +66 62 962 2822 or email info@simproacademyphuket.com — it needs scheduling around Paul’s availability rather than booked on the spot.
You will find SIMPRO Academy inside SOHO Pool Club at Boat Lagoon Marina, so you can settle in poolside or catch the racing in the Sports Lounge before or after your session. Open daily, 9am to 9pm. To book, call +66 62 962 2822 or email us.
SIMPRO Academy sits inside Soho Pool Club at Boat Lagoon Marina, Koh Kaew — about fifteen minutes from Phuket Town and twenty from Phuket International Airport, on the island’s quieter east coast.
There is free parking on site with plenty of space. Taxi and ride-hailing drivers know Boat Lagoon by name, so you don’t need to explain the address.
The simulator room is indoors and air-conditioned. That makes it one of the few things to do in Phuket that works regardless of weather — green season rain or a fiercely hot afternoon.
Because we’re inside the Soho complex, the rest of the day is already there.
The pool is free to use, the kitchen runs 11 AM to 10 PM, and food and drinks can be ordered straight to your rig without pausing the session.
No. Most people who visit have never used a professional rig before. Every session starts with a setup and introduction, and our staff stay on hand throughout.
60 minutes at 1,300 THB, with staff on hand throughout. Packages are 6,950 THB for six sessions, 10,950 for ten and 21,500 for twenty. One-to-one coaching with Paul is 2,000 THB per hour.
Yes. Groups and private sessions are welcome, and because we are inside Soho Pool Club you can make an afternoon of it with food and drinks poolside afterwards.

Children aged 14 and above can drive on their own. Younger children are welcome with an adult alongside them. The practical limit is reach – the driver needs to press the pedals fully while seated properly. Mention ages when you book so the team can set up in advance.
Yes. A 30-minute extension is 500 THB, making a 90-minute session 1,800 THB in total. Extensions depend on the rig being free afterwards, so it’s worth mentioning when you arrive rather than at the end.
No — and that’s deliberate. Our rigs are fixed-base: the seat does not move. Feedback comes through the wheel and pedals instead, via a direct-drive wheel base and load-cell brake. That’s the setup professional sim racers train on, because force through the controls tells you far more about grip than a moving seat does.
